The Barnard Noyce Teachers Scholar Program is recruiting talented STEM majors to become teachers in high-need schools and will provide up to $15,000 towards your undergraduate degree.

Rising juniors at Barnard College and
Columbia University (CC, GC, and SEAS) or rising seniors at Barnard College majoring in one of the accepted STEM majors and seeking Secondary (grades 7-12) teacher certification may now apply for BNTSP funding. Barnard College seniors may apply for a 9th semester in order to complete student teaching. (BNTSP will cover the cost plus some living expenses for the 9th semester.)

Undergraduates must have a total of 36 credits in their content area to obtain secondary teacher certification. For the sciences, 18 credits must be in the science for which you are seeking certification, and the other 18 can be in other sciences.

It is strongly recommended that you make an appointment to meet with Professor Edstrom (ledstrom@barnard.edu) on campus, by phone, or virtually, so that they can review your Education Program plan.
