Summer internship program. |
OverviewThe summer internships sponsored by the Barnard Noyce Teacher Scholars Program will provide a $4,725 stipend and $1110 housing allotment for first and second-year students to strengthen their knowledge and/or background in a STEM-related field and apply such knowledge to STEM Education.
This year, priority will be given for summer internships that provide immersive STEM education experiences for undergraduates. Interns should be engaged in teaching STEM fields to PK-12 youth. Students seeking support for laboratory science research must provide a clear proposal for developing STEM educational materials that draw on their research experiences. Possible projects include developing and disseminating an informational webpage for high school students, developing lesson plans for middle or elementary school teachers and students, conducting lab tours, or giving talks/demonstrations to children in local day camps. Proposals that lack an educational component will not be considered for funding. Students are encouraged to discuss these requirements with their sponsors to ensure their ability to meet this educational requirement. |
This internship opportunity is open to any First Year or Sophomore student at Barnard College who has an interest in exploring a STEM field.
Noyce Scholars are also eligible to receive summer internship funding in the summer following their Junior and/or Senior year. |
