The Barnard Noyce Teacher Scholars Program is committed to supporting their scholars in their professional careers. To this end, current Noyce scholars have access to funds of up to $3,000 a year and $6,000 each through the life of the grant for professional development. This includes travel, food and lodging to attend conferences, classes, lectures and workshops.
To request funding scholars should fill out the proposal form below. Please fill submit this form at least 3 weeks prior to registration deadline. If you need expedited approval, fill out this form and alert Program Coordinator Nicholas Staropoli (nstaropo@barnard.edu) of the situation and we will work to accommodate your needs.
After the professional development event, scholars are asked to evaluate the event twice. Once immediately after the event and again 6 months later. In particular, we are interested in the elements of these events you plan to incorporate from these events into your classroom and then later how successful you were at doing so. Please keep all receipts and acquire itemized receipts whenever possible. The initial evaluation form and the 6-month follow-up form can be found below.
We also ask that scholars share what they learned and their experiences at these professional development events with the rest of the Noyce scholars at the monthly cohort meetings.
