Mediathread is a web-based learning environment developed by the Columbia Center for New Media Teaching and Learning (CCNMTL). Faculty in the Barnard Education Program use Mediathread, and its predecessor, VITAL (Video Interactions for Teaching and Learning), to engage students in analysis of stock video footage and video of their own teaching. We will extend the use of Mediathread as a collaborative environment for peer and faculty support of the scholars during their first years of teaching. Scholars will be able to upload video of their teaching, complete reflections on their teaching and receive peer feedback, for members from their cohort, as well as responses from their faculty mentors.
